Draw Close

I’m a colored pencil artist based in Central Virginia, dedicated to illuminating the connections between native flora and fauna. Through careful, detailed work, I invite viewers into a deeper appreciation of the natural world.

Nature's Artistic Communion

Deeply rooted in my mission of conservation, my artistry goes beyond visual delight — it reflects a profound reverence for the natural world. I dedicate countless hours to capturing the essence of native ecosystems through a creative process that invites deeper connection between art and nature lovers.

My affiliation with The Quarry Gardens at Schuyler enriches my work, resonating with those who value environmental preservation and biodiversity. Through each piece, I invite you to pause, reflect, and explore nature’s wonders in the nuanced details I illustrate. Celebrate Earth’s gifts with me and become part of a community that honors and preserves its splendor.

I Believe

That art can bring the true beauty of biodiversity into focus.

In Native Intelligence

I draw what I know and love. My passion for native plants and animals and belief in the wisdom of native systems compels me to dedicate myself to learning more about them and sharing what I know through artistic interpretation.

In Slow Process

True knowing takes time. I am content to give each insect, leaf, frog, or flower the time that is needed to be faithfully illustrated. This often means spending many weeks (or even months!) on a single small drawing.

In Obsessive Observation

My artistic process involves dedicated observation, year over year, to the natural processes unfolding around me. I closely observe soft baby leaves unfurl in springtime and see them brown and curl against the snow.
